How compute pricing works
Choose a plan, add projects, and see your total cost. Compute is billed separately from your subscription, so you only pay for the capacity each project actually needs.
What is “compute”?
Each project includes a dedicated Postgres instance running on its own server. You are charged for the compute resource of that server (its CPU and memory), independent of your database usage. Compute costs are applied on top of your subscription plan cost.
Paid plans include $10/month in compute credits, enough to cover one Micro instance or to offset the cost of any larger one. The credit is applied once across your whole organization, so adding a project or moving to a bigger instance increases compute the same way: anything above $10 is added to your bill. Compute is billed hourly, so you can scale up or down at any time and only pay for the hours at each size.

Two Nano projects
Two projects, each on a Nano ($5/mo). Together that is $10 of compute, which the $10 credit covers in full.
Both projects fit inside the credit, so compute adds nothing to your bill.
Two Micro projects
Two projects, each on a Micro ($10/mo), is $20 of compute. The credit covers the first $10; the rest is billed.
The first Micro is effectively free; the second adds its full price.
Three Micro projects
Three Micro projects is $30 of compute. After the $10 credit, $20 is added to your subscription.
Each additional Micro after the first adds $10/month.
Scaling one project up
A single project moved up to a Large ($80/mo) for a heavier workload. The credit applies once, and the remainder is your compute spend.
Bigger instances are billed hourly. Scale up or down anytime and charges adjust.
