Peak Mojo is an AI powered hiring platform that helps teams evaluate candidates through AI driven scenarios and job simulations. The platform ingests large volumes of real time events and interactions while providing hiring managers with clear and exportable evaluation reports.
The Challenge
Peak Mojo initially built its core system on DynamoDB to move fast and handle event driven workloads at scale. DynamoDB worked well for ingesting event streams user interactions and scenario simulations.
However as hiring managers began asking for structured candidate review reports the limitations became clear.
Simple requirements such as joins reviewer level breakdowns filters across scenarios or exporting data to CSV required complex workarounds and significantly slowed development.

The team knew they needed Postgres to support reporting and analytics. But setting up Postgres managing migrations or paying AWS RDS level costs felt too heavy for a fast moving product focused team.
